The major difference is removal of cl.el. So it might be desirable to
merge it into the branch. admin/FOR-RELEASE says
** viper and tramp should not load cl at run time.
By the way, could you (or somebody else) be a little bit more verbose
about Tramp being "hairy"? What would you like to be changed? Maybe it
is a good time to fix such things in Tramp 2.1 / in the trunk.
