It could send mails to a mailing list, though...  and perhaps people
could opt in to having mails sent to themselves?

Hm.  I don't quite see how that pipeline would lose anything.  I mean, a
commit is a commit.  (I'm assuming the CI works on individual commits,
and not on pushes.)
