It's an option, but if you are in the minority, maybe we'll just suggest you turn it off locally.
I've never had problems with having it enabled with prose, but then again I don't use Org.
By the way, VSCode seems to have a feature to enable highlighting the enclosing brackets when inside expressions. Perhaps we should add that feature as well (unless we already have it)? https://stackoverflow.com/questions/45182543/highlight-enclosing-bracket-in-visual-studio-code
We don't, but it seems like a minor variation in show-paren-mode's behavior. Might be easy enough to find a place to plug it in, for someone interested in the feature.
