Yes.  I can see my way to having this fixed in a small number of weeks,
or a large number of days.  The bug is understood.

No, this wouldn't be a good idea.  It would be an appreciable amount of
work, and would leave around 50% of types unfontified.  This would very
quickly cause bug reports.
