In my opinion it would be annoying for those who rely on WoMan (if they exist). Description of `man' and `woman' is well balanced in (info "emacs"), but other docs may be improved.
- `man' and `woman' doc string may say that namely `man' is recommended, however if the "man" command is unavailable on a particular platform then they may try `woman'. - (info "woman") and woman.el package comments should recommend `man' and may contain a call for developers to improve parsing in WoMan and perhaps to share more code and settings with man.el to get more consistent behavior. Some features of WoMan described as its advantage have been implemented in man.el since that time.
