I know. I don't think Gerd meant the messages to refer to the symbol.

It seems odd and impractical to have a naming convention that depends
on how often something gets referred to. I wasn't aware of it.
Anyhow, if the then Emacs maintainer got this wrong and it matters, it
clearly needs documenting clearly.
