[emacs-wiki-discuss] sacha/planner-diary-schedule-task and non-functioning diary entry

I've just discovered the archives of the group on gmane, so I'm now working 
through the last years emails, and its fun! :)

On the 2004-04-16 Sacha Chua in a mail titled 
'sacha/planner-diary-schedule-task' described how to change a task to also be 
scheduled and appear in the diary. This looks rather neat so I've been 
playing with it. The task seems to work okay, but it fails every time with 
trying to update the diary and says 'make-diary-entry: Buffer is read-only: 
#<buffer diary>'.

How can I get round this please so that it can work properly?
