Many thanks for your testing earlier.

If you build with the enable-framework option you will build an OS X framework in which the shared library does not have the .dylib extension by convention. See <http://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#documentation/MacOSX/Conceptual/OSX_Technology_Overview/SystemFrameworks/SystemFrameworks.html >

If you disable the enable-framework option, then you should get the *.dylib library.
