Hmm, I tried with my various Lucida fonts, and I never get the buggy
appearance as shown in the right side of
http://ghepeu.altervista.org/freetype2/ft2view.jpg, regardless whether
I use the TT hinting or autohinting.
Can you privately send me the offending font for further
investigation (compressed, please)?
