[ft-devel] glyph rendering issue in CVS version

Hello, developers!

Okay, so I installed current CVS version (should I call it 'HEAD'?), and there's
this wide glyph width problem: glyphs like 'm' or Russian 'ы' are being cropped.
Or maybe not cropped, I'm not sure how to describe the thing, see attached
images:

en-2.3.1.png - normal 'm' with freetype-2.3.1 in Firefox
ru-2.3.1.png - normal 'ы' with freetype-2.3.1 in Gajim
en-CVS.png - cropped 'm' with freetype-CVS in Firefox
ru-CVS.png - cropped 'ы' with freetype-CVS in Gajim

The font is M$ Tahoma, but the same goes for Sans shipped with OpenSUSE.

I had something like this earlier, even with 2.3.1, but the problem was solved
by completely uinistalling freetype-2.2.1.20061027 that had been shipped
with OpenSUSE 10.2, and installing 2.3.1

Now this doesn't disappear neither after I uninstall 2.3.1, install CVS version
and again compile and install fontconfig (is this thing even connected to
freetype?), nor with resolution 100dpi.
