You need to edit common/phones/nk6510.c file. Find the comment:
/* Refuse to work on 6100 only on Linux with IrDA connection */
and comment out the if below. But it is really dangerous. It won't for
sure break the phone. My current suspicion is that the resubmission is the
thing that breaks the phone. So if the connection is really reliable, the
phone won't break. And if you really like hacking, disable the
retransmission policy in common/gsm-statemachine.c
