There are precisely two levels of directories that use `redundant' names
inarch. Not really a big deal I think. :-)
[In archives, as well as some places underneath {arch} in a project
tree, arch uses paths like `CAT/CAT--BRANCH/CAT--BRANCH--VERSION'
instead of `CAT/BRANCH/VERSION'.]
