Lots. AFAICT, a project treee doesn't have a reliable way of knowing who its direct ancestor is*, so you have to scan the archive until you hit a tag point.
My understanding is that Tom doesn't like the idea of star-merge using parent archives. Please correct me if that's wrong.
It's definitely possible in theory. Aaron *The unreliable way is scanning patch logs. But patch logs may be deleted.
