Please, PLEASE, do not make COMP-1 equal to FLOAT-SHORT and COMP-2 equal
to
FLOAT-LONG - or at least make this "selectable" (under UNUSUAL conditions)
COMP-1 and COMP-2 originated with IBM and are typically (even on the PC -
by
default) a "hex" floating point that has NOTHING to do with IEEE floating
point. FLOAT-SHORT and FLOAT-LONG *should* be implemented as IEEE.
