What we need is a common API, see attached an inital draft.
Good draft, good start.I would like to raise attention towards parameters / datatypes: as elegant as "pythonic" solutions are, the API should be equally suitable for "service" implementation: that is, we should not use parameters that cannot be used via XML-RPC as least common denominator.
This is valid for any future API for whatever purpose.A summary of "allowed" datatypes can be found at http://xmlrpc-c.sourceforge.net/xmlrpc-howto/xmlrpc-howto-types.html I would encourage the use of "dictionary" type parameters, explicitly the use of one single dictionary style parameter for that matter: simple and straightforward and yet very flexible.
