Do you receive email using more than one address? Perhaps your email is forwarded to its final location? If you feed the list software the final location but are subscribed using a forwarding email, it may not recognize the address as being subscribed, and hence will not send you a password reminder/reset. Neither the list software nor a human moderator will be able to guess what address forwards to you.

The link inn the last email was the link to the mailing list manager.
You go to the mailing list manager to take yourself off the list.

It works for everyone else.
