Hi Gary.

I waited about 48 hours. I didn't save the ntpmon output at that stage, but the GPS offset had grown to over 100 seconds.

My mistake.  Email messes up inline ntpmon output, and my eye slipped
a column.  You are correct, the reach was zero.

But, the issue of how long you waited remains on the table.  So, how
long did you wait?

Yes, you are correct, the poll was 128, the reach was zero.
