Dear Werner,

And how can it be done? There are files for koi8 and cp1251 input

Well, the default bundle of groff doesn't come with koi8 support.
Do you want it? Or everything will be dealt with by preconv?

Hmm, I've just looked up the definition of koi8-r, and it should be
possible to use the subrange 0xA1-0xFF, which covers the Cyrillic
characters.

What about hcode?

Where's the problem?

Is it possible to use UTF or uXXXX names in its arguments?
Or only koi8?
Having to keep track of encoding changes when reading configuration files
looks like a promise of future surprises.

Is it now possible to hyphenate a mixed english/russian/french UTF text
(switching languages by hla)? Or it requires Unicode within troff?

        Sincerely, Michail
