OK, this turns out to be a bigger job than I expected: there are 62
open bug reports in this category.  A few already have an "In
Progress" or "Need Info" status, but the majority of them would need
to have the patches evaluated and acted upon as appropriate, and this
may be more than can be reasonably triaged before the release.

In addition to the 42 that already have "patch" somewhere in the summary:

another 20 are not so marked, but have a patch in an attachment, in a
comment, or at the end of a hyperlink:

My search was not exhaustive, but I'd be surprised if I missed more
than one or two.  And 62 is probably plenty for now anyway.
