Hallo Group Members.

I am trying to get smb share:
/smb:some.cifs.machine:/path/to/share/

connection fails with:

Enter john's password:
Domain=[MyDomain] OS=[Windows Server 2003 3790 Service Pack 2]
Server=[Windows Server 2003 5.2]
Connection to HOST-CITY-D002 failed (Error NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME)

Process *tramp/smb address@hidden exited abnormally
with code 1

so far I debugged following:
from buffer *debug tramp/smb address@hidden:

  smbclient //some.cifs.machine/path -U john -W MyDomain -s /dev/null

(Note that `/to/share' part is truncated.)

Thus in shell:
prompt$ smbclient //some.cifs.machine/path -U john -W MyDomain

gives identical error as encountered in *debug tramp/smb
address@hidden buffer.

but, with complete path:
prompt$ smbclient //some.cifs.machine/path/to/share -U john -W MyDomain

connection succeeds.

Truncation is done by `tramp-smb-get-share' in very beginning of
`tramp-smb-maybe-open-connection'.

I am using:
tramp-version is a variable defined in `trampver.el'.
Its value is "2.1.18-23.2"

emacs-version is a variable defined in `version.el'.
Its value is "23.2.1"

do You have any idea of how to make it work ok.

best regards and thank You very much for tramp module,
Pawel
