Basically that’s because how EMACSLOADPATH automagically works with
Guix.  And since Emacs does not have namespace, the file convention
’ess-’ appears to me good.

I do not see what needs to be fixed since the ESS package works.


If you want to see a package that use the strategy you are proposing,
give a look at ’proof-general’.  Well, I am not convinced it is
better. :-)
