There is no fft.m:
octave:1> type fft
fft is a built-in function
The built-in function uses either fftpack or FFTW, depending on how
your copy of Octave was compiled. If you are using FFTW, then the
output of octave_config_info should tell you (FFTW_LIBS will probably
not be empty).
