I'm personally more in favor of a lint-like command-line option where it
would say something like:
warning: You are redefining the internal constant i (imaginary number)
And something like (for an example farther down the thread)
warning: Your variable name "clear" is the same as a function.
(Ignorance warning) Parse errors are already handled in the parser-- how
hard would it be to add parse warnings if lint was turned on?
