Tom,

you probably did not get my previous mail to the list, since I CCed
you and your mail-server rejected it (probably due to problems with
the mail severs at my site). So I repeat the contents and resend it
only to the list in order to reach you.

In your original example you seem to call fminunc with a function
returning a non-scalar. This can't work since fminunc expects a
scalar-valued objective function. Use fsolve, if the advice you got so
far solved your probem with it.

And BTW fminunc does not have an option ComplexEqn.
