I think the tag informations of MP3 files and OGG files are compatible
and mp3info should be able to extract them.
Here is what I get on using mp3info to extract the tag information
from on of the Ogg Vorbis files I got. I had tinkered with the tag
information using XMMS before doing this. Please note that ogginfo
does spit out the tag information.
address@hidden _data]$ mp3info
sun_ra_and_his_solar_arkestra--secrets_of_the_sun--01--friendly_galaxy.ogg
sun_ra_and_his_solar_arkestra--secrets_of_the_sun--01--friendly_galaxy.ogg
does not have an ID3 1.x tag.
address@hidden _data]$ ogginfo
sun_ra_and_his_solar_arkestra--secrets_of_the_sun--01--friendly_galaxy.ogg
Processing file
"sun_ra_and_his_solar_arkestra--secrets_of_the_sun--01--friendly_galaxy.ogg"...

In my opinion, the problem also arises because of mp3info's inability
to handle ID3v2 tags. The mainainer of mp3info is also reluctant to
work on this since he does not have enough time.
Happy hacking,
