it's a obsolete option which was used to let vcdimager show the progress
of vcd creation...; now this is only supported with vcdxbuild

it's still left in the vcdimager frontend, in order to let older scripts
just work... as it just dumped execution related meta-info irrelevant to
the actual data processing...
