GNUbatch release 1.0

This is to announce that GNUbatch Release 1.0 has been created.

GNUbatch is a Batch Scheduling System for UNIX and GNU/Linux based systems. To control chaining and interlocking, a system of "variables" can be atomically set and tested. The system can manage jobs on a network of computers and the dependencies can apply to the whole network. Jobs may be run on the originating machine or on any of the hosts in the network.

The system can be managed by a variety of interfaces - shell commands, "curses" programs, X Windows using GTK (also one using Motif), web browser and C/C++ API (which has been adapted for Java). There is a working interface for MS Windows but this needs adapting to rely on Free Software rather than MFC.
