I recall someone reporting this problem within the last weeks (maybe
it was you?).  Although I'd recommend to upgrade to Gnus 5.10,
replying I'm quite sure that Gnus 5.9 should have no such problem
unless you messed up your configuration somehow.

It would be useful if you tell us some Message-IDs of articles where
the problem occurs.
