Please visit http://www.fsf.org/ now to help us test the new FSF video
player and our ability to balance our traffic load before we do a full
launch of our year-end membership drive.

You should see a video from FSF member and Samba developer Jeremy
Allison. Jeremy does a great job introducing people to the advantages of
GNU/Linux and free software, and we hope it will inspire more people to
give using it a try.

This is the first in a weekly series of videos we will be releasing
during our year-end membership drive. The videos will highlight the work
of our members and supporters, FSF staff and board members.

Please also test our new video widgets at
https://my.fsf.org/associate/widget. You can put these widgets on any
website you control to help us promote the campaign. They will update
automatically from fsf.org as we rotate in new videos.

The widget uses Michael Leigeber's Tinybox, with a combination of jQuery
and mvembed for the displaying of the video. mvembed, developed by
Metavid, is free software written in JavaScript which allows users of
browsers who don't have support for the latest HTML5 video and audio
tags to enjoy these multimedia aspects, without relying on proprietary
software. Our campaigns manager Matt Lee did a great job getting our web
pages ready for this.

Please send notice of any errors you see to address@hidden Some lag
is expected, so don't worry about that unless it's severe.

You can also help today by making an early renewal of your 2010
membership https://my.fsf.org/associate/support_freedom.

Thanks for your support!

Happy Hacking, Peter and the Free Software Foundation team
