At least about brasilian law Mr. Szmidt is right, this kind of stuff is called as Industrial Property and not Intellectual Property here by the Law, but it is very common find jurists talking 'Intellectual Property'. A title or a organisation does not make the law. Defitions and statements in the law text do (and judges that enforce them), and I have yet to see a law text that defines "Intellecutal property".
