I'd rather:
  LT_PREREQ(<minimum version>)
  LT_INIT_LIBTOOL(<options>, <tags>)

So LT_INIT_LIBTOOL([1.6 C++ disabled-shared]) would be rewritten as:
  LT_INIT_LIBTOOL([disabled-shared], [C++])
