sounds good to me. I think it hasn't to be in a section "official
guidelines" but could in something like "suggestions" (or whatever). You
could also put suggestions of how to deal with lily files
(i.e. suggestions of 'good practice', a thing users ask every month or
so in the list). Things already in the manual could be referenced with a
link, like: use bar checks (see page xxx), use octave checks (see page
yyy).
