Note: my assumption was that it is a curl vs wget availability issue that 
caused my HTTPError() on download, but upon further inspection it seems a 
python library that is used for the downloads…. no clue yet why on my system it 
failes for HTTP 301-ed URL, whereas it apparently works fine for others. Could 
this be related to python-version of the host on which gub is running?
