I am surprised.  The way I know appoggiature, they typically take the
notated duration from the attached main note (which may leave very
little of the main note).  Indeed, the period definition I know is that
they take _at least_ the notated value but you are usually fine with
taking the notated value.

The duration of the main note is comparatively irrelevant.  It gets the
rest of the time, of course.
