Most importantly, it has the DOS/WIN/NT ports. Since (I assume)
most people want those as binaries, they can continue to be distributed
as builds of the devel code, until the devel code is released as v2.8.
It also has the zlib support, which is important for the DOS/WIN/NT
ports. It's not necessary for Unix and VMS, but eventually should
form the basis for HTTP/1.1 "deflate" content-coding, which in due time
will be important for all platforms.

Note that I will be away most of January, and logging in here
only occassionally, to deal with any site problems that arise. I don't
plan to do any Lynx development, and will be answering lynx-dev messages
only as time permits.
