The ./configure script of GConf requires the "dbus" package via pkg-config,
unless one specifies some DEPENDENCIES_(CFLAGS/LDFLAGS) variables by hand.

So there might be a way around it.

However, if the GConf really depends on DBus, and DBus is Linux specific,
then GConf itself might be Linux specific, too.

It seems that this issue requires some deeper knowledge on those packages.
Anyway - feel free to experiment with that if you like. :-)

BTW: Martin Gerhardy, what do you need GConf for?
