I did not suggest that it be removed, I suggested that ^X was a wrong
choice and that it be replaced with ^K:

(But ^K was a wrong choice too, of course, because it is used to cut/clear
the answer at the prompt, but I did not understand that at the time.  So
things were left hanging in the air and in the end you removed it instead
of replacing it.  And I had already learned to avoid M-T so getting rid of
it was not important to me any more.)
