Indeed, reading back in the various Qt-related bug reports it seems Qt is a
continuous story of version-specific workarounds.
Maybe we want just too much from Qt and we'd better dim or ambitions a little
:-)

But that said, I am very happy with the GUI's capabilities, esp. the floating
VE subpanes. It makes my work a lot easier than when just using a CLI as in
the old days.
