Follow-up Comment #8, bug #55139 (project octave): Thanks for clearing this up. I incorrectly assumed that we were using "system" internally in Octave to indicate that we want to use the system locale. That is what we do in libinterp/corefcn/input.cc @ l.544. Maybe we should do something similar for Qt?
