Follow-up Comment #9, bug #57157 (project octave): __chunky to move, zoom in and out__ Octave's performance as regards drawing patches is pathetic at best. Lines etc. is much much better. But it also depends on your graphics HW. Anyway that is one reason that shapedraw.m tries to draw patches and polylines as much as possible as one variable rather than split them up and draw one by one. "Fixing" the current packages will probably mean replacing some functions by their dev versions. But there is some entanglement that has to be sorted out.
