Follow-up Comment #11, bug #35588 (project octave):
Both comment #9 and comment #10 are correct.
Normally, nobody is watching old, closed bug reports so it does no good to
post information there. In this case, I did happen to get an e-mail. I
checked the patch and it is useful. There is a hidden dependency of
preface.texi on contributors.texi through an @include Texinfo command. Mike
Miller already noticed the traffic on this report and checked the Gentoo patch
in on the stable branch.
