[Pan-users] Header pane sorting slowness

Sorting the header pane by a different field appears to take time in
proportion to total number of articles in the group, even if the filters
filter out most of the articles. Obviously this is because pan seems to
perform the filtering stage again upon every sort. This seems unnecessary,
given that choosing a different field to sort by, AFAIK, cannot change the
list of articles shown.

With very large groups, it would be a nice performance improvement to not do
the unnecessary refiltering, but just the sorting.
