Yes my Pan generated those .ERRORS and _copy_s as well here.

I bet your Event Log was full of error-msgs as well?

And if you look inside your article-cache dir, you would see some very oddly
named files there, too.  That right there is enough evidence blaming Pan, as
described by Olaf/Rhialto with the C-language-style character-substitutions,
the Event Log and the article-cache files are similarly scrambled, but have
only a resemblance to the (original) NZB Message-ID fields (everything here
_should_ be the same).

Just to compare, using the Unison app (as I mentioned in the related thread)
did download these same files fine -- they look like this here:

(OSX uses the colon ':' for HFS-style path-separator, so the filesystem is
aware of that lil fact and converts them to underscores '_')

I'd say all this is inter-related to the bugs mentioned by Olaf/Rhialto in
the primary thread.
