Yes, and that's exactly how I have it on both my desktop and my laptop.
This isn't exactly the place, however, to discuss this. If you haven't
already, go to http://forum.xfce.org/ and get an account so that you can
ask about this there. If you'd rather not do that, email me off-list and
I'll see what I can do. I usually have to get rid of an extra panel
because I think that panels should be like Highlanders, and we may be
able to adapt that to what you need.

When GNOME 2.32 and extension gtk 2.22 start dying of bit rot then I'll make the decision. Until then, I and my family are happy with GNOME 2.
