Nous avons choisi tout simplement le nom de "Peng"
pour le projet initial. Nous pensons qu'il était
important de dissocier Peng de la marque Aol pour des
questions de litiges, mais aussi pour que les
linuxiens ne pensent pas qu'il s'agisse du client Aol
officiel, ou que Aol est participé au développement du
client.

Le terme "Pengaol" est un abus de langage lié aux
anciennes versions, mais aussi au nom du domaine, bien
qu'il soit évocateur, je vous déconseille de
l'utiliser.

Je crois que Pengfork est un choix judicieux dans un
premier temps. Je vous dis cela en partie, car je n'ai
pas de pouvoir de décision sur le nom. Seul Stéphane
est apte à décider qui deviendra mainteneur du projet
officiel Peng.

Je pense que Pengfork est une version béta, qui va
vous permettre de vous familiariser avec le code, et
de définir vos objectifs.

Dans l'avenir (très proche), cela vous ouvre plusieurs
perspectives:

- la possibilité de devenir les mainteneurs officiels
du projet Peng.  

- la possibilité de créer une nouvelle branche
différente à partir des sources de Peng sous une autre
dénomination.

- la possibilité de recommencer un projet sur d'autres
bases en redéveloppant tout à zéro, sous une autre
dénomination.

Pour ma part, je pense que la première des solutions
est la meilleure, pour des raisons de temps,
d'énergie, de notoriété mais aussi pour des raisons
personnelles affectives.

J'ai lu tout les points que vous avez soulevé, que le
bon sens ne peut que me faire approuvé. 

Dans tout les cas, je me conformerais à la décision de
Stéphane. S'il juge que vos objectifs sont
constructifs techniquement et pour les utilisateurs,
vous aurez les clefs en main du projet Peng officiel. 

Stéphane, a un avis objectif sur Peng, et son
développement. Je pense que votre approche l'est
aussi.

Seul, une petite période de réflexion, et
d'expérimentation nous permettra à tous de débattre
sur la question de la reprise du projet officiel Peng.

say to you it partially, because I have no power of
decision on the name. The only person, Stéphane is
capable of deciding whom will become the mainteneur of
the official project Peng.

I think that Pengfork is a beta version, which is
going to allow you to get acquainted with the code,
and to define your objectives.

In the near future, it will open you several
perspectives:

- The possibility of becoming official mainteneurs of
the project Peng.  

- The possibility of creating a new branch from Peng's
sources under another naming.

- The possibility of beginning a project on the other
bases by redeveloping everything in zero, under
another naming.

For my part, I think that the first of the solutions
is the best, for reasons of time, energy, fame but
also for emotional personal reasons.

I read every points that you raised, that the common
sense can only make me approved. 

In every cases, I would conform myself to the decision
of Stéphane. If he judges that your objectives are
constructives technically and for the users, you will
have key in hand of the project official Peng. 

Stéphane, has an objective opinion on Peng, and its
development. I think that your approach is it as well.

Only a small period of reflection, and experiment will
allow us all to discuss on the question of the
resumption of the official project Peng.
