Hello!

I think i will import my new email client this weekend into cvs. I just 
don't know which name to use.

1.) FeLaMiMail

named after my 3 daughters (Ferike, Lara, Mia). How does that sound in 
other languages then german? 


2.) Android

that's the name of the last watch i bought by Think Geek. Sounds cool, but 
has nothing to do with emails .... :)

What will be new?

1.) I have writen the main screen from scratch again. It's based on php 
imap functions now. This will make it possible to use Angles functions when 
they are ready. Also the source code is much more readable and maintainable 
then the old code. It's also based on themes now completely.

2.) I added header caching. It's also very useable on big folders now. This 
would also allow to add offline support. But that's not coded until now. I 
use the phpGW database for this. The header caching is in separate class, 
so other email apps can use it too. If they like! :)

3.) Better IMAP delete support. You can now select to mark messages as 
deleted only, or move them to trash or delete them immediately.

4.) Introduction of phpmailer 1.50 and i think also something more :)

I have tested it only with courier imap. I don't think that it will work uw 
imap, because i don't know what the difference there. 

It would be nice if some people would like to test it, when i have 
submitted to cvs.

There is still one problem. Reading big folders into cache may take much 
time. Too much time! :) It reads the messages into the sql database and the 
browser get'S no data in this time. This is something i need to improve.


How to use different email apps?

There is still one problem. When i click on a mail link somewhere in phpgw, 
it does not open up my email client. Sometimes it opens the my native email 
client and sometimes phpgw-email. I would like to some mail link function 
which is able to create links for native email app, email and 
felamimail/adroid. The the user can select under his preferences, which 
email app to use. I would like to see this working before the release of 
0.9.14.



phpmailer

I use phpmailer for creating emails and sending them away. I would like to 
this class intergrated into phpgw. This class is tested with many smtp 
server, supports smtp auth and is able to speak native smtp.



The future


I plan to support all imap features and want to add spellchecking. Let's 
see what will happen.
