I found some other strange facts about the system's use of curses and mentioned
them to the admin. He hasn't responded yet.

This system has another strange installation of psql, so I defined
PSQL_SUPPORT to be 0 in config.h. Maybe there should be a
--disable-psql in configure. And now I have these errors:
