Unfortunately there does no dl.sv.nongnu.org/releases/ exist - 
I mean the abbreviation dl for nongnu.

That's not true, sorry.
Removing files doesn't depend on the privileges of the file, but only 
on the privileges of the directory.

I have tested it on my download area and it worked.

Okay, that's a reason.

So to make it clear again: I also think, it is a good idea.
