  All kinds of free/open source projects are accepted under GSoC. You will 
probably have to apply as an organization. The application opens on January 
4th. You will want to check (

I think Own-Mailbox is a good idea. I think you can apply those kinds of 
projects for GSoC. I did not check the other one.
