Dear Glen,
below you'll find my notes about your questions.

In my Linux Box, if I'm operating as super user

find / -name "unistd.h"

gives

/usr/src/linux-2.0.29/include/linux/unistd.h
/usr/src/linux-2.0.29/include/asm-i386/unistd.h
/usr/src/linux-2.0.29/include/asm-mips/unistd.h
/usr/src/linux-2.0.29/include/asm-alpha/unistd.h
/usr/src/linux-2.0.29/include/asm-m68k/unistd.h
/usr/src/linux-2.0.29/include/asm-sparc/unistd.h
/usr/src/linux-2.0.29/include/asm-ppc/unistd.h
/usr/i486-linuxaout/include/unistd.h
/usr/include/bsd/unistd.h
/usr/include/unistd.h
/usr/include/pthread/mit/unistd.h
/home/terna/swarm/swarm-1.0.3/include/unistd.h

diff /usr/include/unistd.h /home/terna/swarm/swarm-1.0.3/include/unistd.h

gives no difference

diff /usr/src/linux-2.0.29/include/linux/unistd.h
/home/terna/swarm/swarm-1.0.3/include/unistd.h

gives the content of file unistd.diff, attached

Grater overlapping means that, while running bug here, we see the window
"ModelSwarm" moving on the screen, on other windows. My error: the movement
is the same also compiling with 1.0.0

After the first compilation, the problem did no more appeared, so I'm not
sure of what I have to run in the debugger.
